Compress Video Online
Upload a video, choose a target size, and download a smaller copy directly from your browser — no uploads and no quality surprises.
Upload your video
Reduce video size with a simple target-size control while keeping the original audio track.
Hints
- Wait for the current download to finish before starting another compression job, or it may fail.
- Very large videos may take longer or fail on memory-limited browsers or devices.
Status: Ready
How to use
- 1 Choose a supported video file from your device.
- 2 Move the target-size slider to pick the output size you want.
- 3 Choose MP4, MOV, or MKV, then compress and download the smaller video.

Smaller file, same length
Reduce the file size while keeping the full video from start to finish.
Private by design
Your video stays on your device while the browser prepares the smaller download.
Keep your audio
The original audio track is preserved as your video is compressed.
Frequently asked questions
Can I compress a video online without uploading it?
Yes. The selected video is processed in your browser, so it is not uploaded to a server.
How does the size control work?
The slider sets the target video bitrate. The estimated output size updates as you move it, so you can pick a smaller file that still looks good.
Can I reduce the file size without losing quality?
It depends. Lowering the bitrate removes redundant detail, so a modest reduction often looks nearly identical. But setting an extremely low bitrate will visibly hurt the picture with blocking, blur, and other artifacts. Small reductions keep quality; aggressive ones trade it away.
Will the video keep its audio?
Yes. The tool keeps the original audio track while reducing the video size.
Why is the actual output size different from my estimate?
The estimate is calculated from your chosen bitrate and the video length. The real result varies because bitrate control is not exact, and compression depends on how much detail each frame contains, so the final size is not perfectly predictable.
Why did my video get bigger instead of smaller?
This tool always outputs video using the H.264 format. If your source already uses an efficient, highly compressed codec like H.265 or VP9, or is already quite small, it may not get smaller. Even when you set a lower bitrate, the encoder algorithm can prevent the output from reaching that small size, so the file may end up similar or larger.
